STUDI KATA “ANAK ALLAH”: SUATU GELAR YESUS MENURUT KITAB IBRANI

Martini Hia

Abstract

This study constitutes an exegetical and theological exploration of the designation “Son of God” as ascribed to Jesus Christ in the Epistle to the Hebrews. The primary focus of the research is directed toward analyzing the meaning and theological implications of this title within the framework of New Testament theology, with particular attention to the constellation of priestly symbolism and Old Testament theological heritage that shapes the narrative of Hebrews. By employing a word study approach in conjunction with systematic theological synthesis, this research demonstrates that the title “Son of God” not only affirms the Messianic identity of Jesus but also articulates His divinity, authority, and unique relational status with God the Father. The findings indicate that the Epistle to the Hebrews consistently presents Christ as the superior and eternal High Priest who surpasses the Levitical priesthood, and as the Son who was perfected through suffering and obedience, thereby becoming the definitive source of salvation for humanity. Consequently, a profound understanding of the title “Son of God” in Hebrews bears significant doctrinal weight for the development of Christology and the practice of Christian faith in contemporary contexts.
